PAGE OF CUPS

The Page of Cups as interpreted by kat fukui & Kat Jackson.

The Minor Arcana has 16 Court Cards, representing different maturity levels and personality characteristics. Pages are of the Earth element, and typically correspond to a younger energy. This doesn’t necessarily mean literal age, but rather a youthfulness that lives inside all of us. Pages can call upon our inner child, beginner’s mind, or our openness to start a fresh journey.

The Page of Cups combines Earth and Water to form a reliable, imaginative, intuitive, and tender energy. I see this Page being very open to receiving messages and following inspiration. In the RWS depiction, they hold a cup with a fish, representing creativity. How fitting is fisherman Kim Seokjin as our Page of Cups?! Jin’s childlike playfulness and love for fishing led to the banger SUPER TUNA, which has resonated with children and adults alike. I love him as a reminder to let ourselves dream freely and share joy!

When Kat described this card as an invitation to receive messages of healing, restoration, and all around good vibes — Jin and Super Tuna came to mind. I had a hard time at first because I was so focused on Super Tuna it was almost looking too comedic. Kat sent me some photos of fisherman Jin which lead to me creating a completely different card from the original one I made.

As Kat described the Page of Cups combines Earth and Water so I wanted to make the colors equally warm and cool. The different photos of Jin captures the pure joy he has when he’s doing things he loves. Also watching Jin fish is probably one of the funniest things I’ve seen so it definitely delivers us the good vibes and innocence attached to this card.
