Happy Jin Super Tuna Solar Eclipse Day!
Happy Jin Day, ARMY, and greetings from the departures gate at LAX! What a day/week it’s been for each fan and all of the members. Four days of BTS concerts, one night of Jingle Ball, multiple vLives, WeVerse and Twitter posts, and of course the release of the masterpiece “Super Tuna” (#SOTY #GiveKimSeokjinAGrammy). Much like Kim Seokjin himself, there’s a lot happening all at once, and all of it is over the top.
But wait, there’s more! In addition to the whirlwind of Bangtan news, big things are happening on the cosmic plane as well. Not only is it our personal Moon’s special day, but we’re also in the midst of a solar eclipse. The energy is off the charts, is what I’m saying.
Our resident astrological expert Kirstin Wu summed the eclipse energy up thusly:
“With the solar eclipse in Sagittarius closing out the transit of the nodes through the axis of Gemini and Sagittarius, the cosmic weather is something of a whirlwind, clearing out the remains of what you’ve been letting go of over the past 18 months. This lunation happens a few days after a Mercury cazimi, the point in Mercury’s cycle where it conjoins the Sun exactly before moving forward.
Something about this eclipse, then, may well speak to themes linked to information and ideas. Wherever Sagittarius is in your chart, there are beliefs, thoughts and elements of knowledge that are being deeply assessed at the end of this cycle. What this distillation process creates will be revealed over the next 6 months but for now, make sure to rest and look after your baseline needs. When the world around you (and maybe even inside you) feels so moveable, it’s normal to feel pulled towards mirroring its rhythm. Remember that the best thing you can do is to create what stability you can, and to resource yourself as much as possible, especially as you adapt and move forward.
The south node in Sagittarius has had us releasing (or maybe even leaking) energy in some aspect of our lives - forcing us to get clear on what no longer works, what isn’t sustainable, what is creating clutter, and what needs to be mourned.
This last eclipse is the last push when it comes to those themes - literally the last contraction - and even though we might be exhausted, it asks us to be willing to surrender just that bit more.”
Kirstin also notes that since the effects of eclipses generally play out over the course of about 6 months, these changes may not be instantaneous for you. But it’s worth keeping them in the back of your mind so you’re prepared for what lies ahead.
With that in mind, the BTS Tarot Project readers have put together a collective reading for you, with each of us pulling a card that sums up the energy of this eclipse season and how it may play out for you.
The magician shows up for this collective reading, and in the context of honoring Jin (and his entire energy), this card feels like a very clear reminder: to allow yourself space to continually (re)learn yourself. Ruled by Mercury, the magician is an energy that is shifting, changeable, up in the air -- & in Sagittarius season, pinning this kind of energy down feels like trying to hit moving target. Can you allow yourself to keep shifting your aim? Can you allow yourself to surprise you?
The Hermit, especially with the backdrop of the upcoming Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius, calls us to hang out by ourselves a little longer in the liminal. To be okay with our restlessness, to not have all the answers—and to resist the urge to seek coping mechanisms from places that historically haven’t worked for you. Come back to your inner world and be kind to yourself right now. That can look like turning off social media for a bit if you weren’t able to see BTS on stage this time around. Or channeling our birthday boy Jin and dedicating a day to whatever you want to do. I love that Jin is comfortable giving himself space from the other members, and going to amusement parks by himself! So whatever this may look like to you, take care by stepping away from noise so you can hear your inner voice a little clearer.
The Knight of Swords shows up for us as things might be feeling a little fast-moving or even frantic. Whether it’s trying to plan and organise your actions, pushing yourself mentally or experiencing anxiety of some kind, you could be finding yourself speeding towards a particular horizon. There’s a lot happening, and sometimes we just have to trust our ability to see processes and ideas through. However, it’s also important to take a step back and examine how we’re going about the process - not to judge, but to breathe. To oxygenate and seek perspective. Where can you cut yourself some slack? How can you resource yourself as much as possible when you’re trying to focus? Instead of moving faster, can you move more efficiently? Let yourself surrender to the sense of motion within you, but don’t forget to stay open-minded about what the journey might look like.

The Emperor reminds us that in order to stay grounded throughout this tumultuous time, it’s important to have a solid framework and sense of discipline to fall back on. This doesn’t necessarily need to come from within yourself - Jin himself has said that he often looks to Namjoon for guidance on how to inject a little more stability and drive into his life when he feels himself drifting. Don’t be afraid to ask those around you for support as you surrender to the flow of what’s swirling around inside your head. It’s in the liminal space between strict personal rules and experimental freedom that we find our deepest insights. Allow these two sides of yourself to balance you out and keep you steady as life changes all around you.
So there you have it, ARMY! Strange things are afoot at the Circle K (sorry, wrong reference) but we can get through this together with a little patience, a little structure, and a whole lot of trust in ourselves and our communities. There’s no telling what the future will hold for any of us, but we have the music of Bangtan, the support of ARMY, and the guidance of our very own Moon to lead us forward. Borahae! 💜
