LEO SEASON
LEO SEASON IS HERE! Today, Friday July 22nd, 2022 marks the beginning of Leo season, where the sun finds itself back in its home in the sign of Leo where it’s most comfortable. As the Sun is ruled by the fixed fire sign, Leo season pushes us into the spotlight for the final stretch of Summer. With restful and introspective Cancer season coming to an end, Leo season is a welcome change of pace that allows us to fuel ourselves with the energy we have preserved, and roar with confidence. Leo season lights the little fire inside each of us that wants to lead, socialize and create. During Leo season, we may find ourselves ignited with a new burst of energy that can be channeled through creative pursuits, dramatic forms of expression and a desire to take charge.
A common misconception about Leo’s is that they need attention, but in reality since Leo’s are ruled by the Sun, it just means they’re comfortable with the spotlight. We have to remember that people are naturally drawn to sunshine and warmth, and Leo’s have no problem with leading the pack and providing good vibes. There is a generosity to Leo’s that often goes unnoticed; they’re always happy to shine their light on others. Throughout the next month or so, don’t be surprised if these good vibes and sunshine lead you to make a few new friends and connections. Leo’s love to bring people together.
Don’t let all of this bright, solar energy intimidate you. Leo season also asks us to have courage and take control, to draw boundaries and to confidently steer ourselves in a direction that lets us be our most authentic selves. For those who are a bit more introverted, Leo season can be a little overwhelming, but all of this Leo energy can be used to better ourselves, and to prioritize our own sense of identity. Being self-assured does not mean you are selfish!
Confidence doesn’t necessarily mean being the flashiest and loudest person in the room, but rather recognizing that we are worthy of praise and love. Don’t be afraid to demand the recognition that you deserve during Leo season. Oftentimes we are told to accept the status quo and fall in line, but ask yourself what are the areas of your life that you can burn the fire a little brighter? Where can you take center stage in your life?
While j-hope’s new album ‘Jack in the Box’ was released during Cancer season, his first live solo performance of his new music will be taking place during Leo season, at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago. As a theme of Leo season is leadership, and with j-hope as BTS’ secret leader, it could not be more on point that he is the first member to start this next chapter of BTS through solo music and navigate this unchartered territory. In true Leo fashion, j-hope has stepped up to the plate and is open and ready to receive all of the praise that may come his way. Even though the themes of ‘Jack in the Box’ may not be all sunshine and flowers, there is an underlying theme of passion that is burning bright throughout the entirety of the album. His creative vision for this release has been crystal clear and uninhibited, and it will be inspiring to witness how he takes the main stage in front of hundreds-of-thousands of people. How very Leo!
When it comes to the rest of BTS and the sign of Leo, there are a few things going on, most notably that Jungkook has a Leo moon, and BTS as a group also has a Leo moon! While people assume that Leo placements need to be front and center, the moon in Leo actually wants to shine their light on others, so they can hopefully, maybe have that light shined back onto them so they can learn to love themselves (sound familiar?). The entire Love Yourself series is a whole Leo manifesto - make sure to have those albums on repeat this season!
We also cannot forget about the almighty visionary behind BTS, the Leo stellium himself Mr. Bang PD. Considering the beacon of creativity that he is, it’s no surprise that Mr. Bang has 4 placements in Leo - his sun, moon, mercury and mars. While we don’t know what his birth time is, and therefore we don’t know his rising sign, Bang PD’s creative vision has always been to spread the message of self love and acceptance, and to provide music and art for healing. There is an abundance to Leo’s that allows them to give freely, especially as it relates to anything creative.
These days, it is easy to feel powerless and discouraged as the state of the world is so dark and the future seems so bleak. With Leo season, we are asked to find and nurture a sense of hope within ourselves so that we can move through the world fearlessly and authentically, and to live our best lives. If we had to pick a song to start the season off right, let’s go with Future by j-hope off of ‘Jack in the Box’. As the song says, let’s bet on courage, faith and hope, and Leo season is the perfect opportunity to do so.
