LIBRA SEASON
As the sun makes its way through its temporary home in Libra and the days soften into transitional seasons, a refreshing but familiar sensation of both remembering and shedding layers begins to buzz beneath our skin. As the harshness of winter and summer (depending on hemisphere) lose their edge to the changing temperatures and the world alights in new colors, we find our own edges blurring into those colors, our own selves tinted by their glow.
Libra is the chameleon when it has to be, the dragon when it wants to be. It is the softest sweater you dig out of the closet when the mornings get chilly. Libra is the accelerating yellowing of the leaves, making beautiful the first steps of a necessary cycle of death. Libra feels the separating of every leaf from the tree it falls from and takes a photograph to remember its beauty.
This Libra season, make plans - but let yourself follow your own lead. Dream big, as you do, but take bigger breaths. Don’t fight your metamorphosis - but don’t fight your way out of the chrysalis before you’re ready. This season can feel like a shedding of layers and a settling back into ourselves and our loved ones/connections. But the settling back is never into quite the same form as the last time. Whatever of our old self we fall back into, it is the parts we admire of that self. The shapes and colors of the leaves return, but the same leaf never grows back. What do you know is right? What do you feel is right? What parts of yourself do you want to call back, and which do you want to release? You have time.
This Libra season, remember: it’s okay to be wrong, it’s okay to admit it, it’s okay to amend. The string tying you to those and that whom and which you love may stretch thin but is not broken. Take a little time for that hobby or study you lost attention for but still love. Make plans with that friend you feel kinda bad about not catching up with in a while. Visit that place you love missing and remember why you loved it - but also why you left. Let yourself enjoy the comforting changing of the seasons and the parts of you it awakens. Let others do the same.
The corresponding tarot card for Libra - represented by the scales - is Justice. Equilibrium, balance, and harmony. A sword to cut through deceit and darkness. What do you need to cut out - or through - in order to re-balance the plates of your life teetering on your hands? If your bucket was full, would you be filling all your cups equitably? Some might be drying up by now. But don’t worry, they’ll still hold water. And the color of the water - what kind of self do you want to pour into things? What do you believe in? Justice brings the neglected back to the surface and quietly demands its care. Its guiding voice is a compass towards fairness. What does fairness look like to you? Remember that you can (and should) expand and recolor parts of that picture as you grow.
Jimin is our Libra sun of BTS, a light of care and kindness and dichotomy of allure and softness. Grace and sharpness balancing on scales with effervescence and honesty. He is true to who he is at each passing season. Jimin embodies the Justice card by his caring and his gentle insisting on being kind to oneself. His attention to the climates of those he loves. Jimin is the one to come running when he hears you’re crying, the one to laugh with his entire body at your cheesiest jokes. The one to say “I know you would be proud of me, I’m proud of you, too; let’s be proud of each other.” Because that just makes sense. It’s only right to share the love and space we have in us with others and ourselves. Libra is then that rightness, that sharing.
