Hi again, ARMY! The New Moon in Scorpio occurs on November 4, 2021 at 2:15 PM Pacific. New Moons occur when the sun and moon are conjunct, and this particular lunation is in opposition to Uranus. And the day after on November 5, Mercury enters Scorpio and Venus enters Capricorn. There's a lot going on! 😵‍💫 If you haven't already read Kirstin's week ahead post, I highly recommend to get a better sense of the Scorpio Season vibe!!

New moons are usually when you might plant seeds and set intentions. With all going on this week, I don't think this is the time for grand, initiating ritual. Since the moon is in fall in Scorpio, it is a malnourished moon, an uncomfortable and hyper self-aware moon. Where the moon craves navigable waters, Scorpio desires to lurk far below in the uncharted depths.

In this time of decay, it's important to remember that yes, death is a portal for transformation—but it's also exhausting. It's activating and tumultuous. We deserve time to rest and grieve the parts that we are in the process of letting go from Libra season.

I love Interlude : Shadow, with its plunge into the fears that accompany success, to help dissect this new moon. I think it props up two mirrors that we can gaze at this Scorpio moon with — its relationship with Aries and Taurus. Mars rules both Aries and Scorpio in traditional astrology. The Aries flavor of Martian energy via conquering and assertion struck me with the intro, "I wanna be a rap star / I wanna be the top / I wanna be a rock star / I want it all mine." There is a desire for independence without worrying about the consequences too much. But Mars in Scorpio is much more controlled and channeled, more aware of its mortality. What decay for you needs recycling right now, despite the discomfort it provokes?

Let's also look at what the Taurus-Scorpio axis could be calling us to review. Where Taurus is concerned with our tangible senses of security, Scorpio is focused on the intangible; or at least the deconstructing of our tangible values. Yoongi raps:

We can question, we can crack away at what we thought we wanted, because it's okay to change. It's okay to be a different person than we were a year or even a month ago. We are not meant to remain in the same place forever.

There's an invitation to observe our inner and outer worlds, away from material influences, with the motivation to sit with our patterns and be okay with them. We're all in this spiral, and death/rebirth are a natural flows to embrace. Yoongi parts us with this acceptance mantra:

Yeah, you’ll be more at ease if you accept it
Yeah, success or failure, wherever you are
Yeah, you can’t escape, wherever you go

With this spread, I ask you to be with and befriend your growing shadow, because it's still very much a part of you.
