ACE OF PENTACLES
As Anaïs said, a seed is the perfect symbol of the Ace of Pentacles to me. In truth, I often say that of all the Aces, but when it comes to this suit, I mean it very literally. As the first cards of the four suits, they are often described as the pure energy and potential of a suit. A divine spark; a drop of springwater spilling from underground rock; the first gust of wind clearing the sky. They carry the information, memory, blueprint and fuel needed to sustain their growth. We have the choice to do with that what we desire.
FIVE OF CUPS
After sitting in the uncertain and liminal in the Four of Cups, we move onto the Five of Cups to process whatever came up. This card seems to be perceived as a “negative” or dreaded one, as its themes are around grieving. Who wants to draw a card that confronts you with loss?
But the thing is, haven’t we all been grieving these past two years? For many of us, we’ve carried around grief constantly, long before the pandemic.

Number two in the tarot’s major arcana, the High Priestess – also called by many the High Priestexx, to reflect the card’s openness to any & all gender identities – is (for me) absolutely an energy that Park Jimin embodies in his work, persona, & way(s) of showing up / being in the world. My advice as a “professional”* tarot reader – if you want to think about the High Priestess in the context of embodiment, and especially as a card that challenges binary oppositions – is ✨simply✨ to do yourself the favor of watching Jimin’s performance of Filter.
THE MAGICIAN — magic is storytelling
The number 1 of the tarot, the channeller, the magic-worker, the mercurial & intemperate embodiment of a sudden chill autumn breeze — the magician works with intent, but an intent that is unfixed & changeable. Like its astrological correlate, mutable Gemini, the magician's attention is at once focused, determined, calculated — and — divided, shifting, flexible. Both at once. Without contradiction.
FOUR OF PENTACLES
The 4 of Pentacles (or sometimes Coins) invites us to consider how we create a sense of safety and stability for ourselves in the material world. With the Pentacles being the suit of Earth, we’re thinking about embodiment, resources, what sustains us, how we connect to the physical world and the environment around us.
TWO OF CUPS
Twos in tarot numerology represent duality, union, balance, and partnership. When the Two of Cups comes up for you, it can act as a mirror through which we're invited to embrace and integrate all parts of ourselves. This can happen through another person, where the relationship provides a container for recognition, mutual respect, and love. The relationship flows with ease when you're together. Whether this is your best friend or your soul mate, there is a harmonious balance and reciprocity between you two.
THE FOOL — leap like a bunny
The first word of the story of the Major Arcana, the 0 of the tarot, the promise of a shiny new beginning -- for many, the fool is a card that embodies (and invites us to embody) the clear & direct energy of initiation. In the often-cited /Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom/, Rachel Pollack describes the Fool as "not [being] fixed like the other cards," as the pure vibe in which "no difference exists between possibility and reality," as the mere concept that "every moment is a new starting point" (Pollack 16), and, like, yes to all that.
